Meet Socks, 100,000, and other randoms

It appears that a very snuggly creature has made his way into our already overfull household. To those who are rolling their eyes and saying, “not another one,” don’t fret. Our new guy is temporary. It is a rather long story that I hardly understand myself, but we are fostering an 8 week old Staffordshire named Socks. He is a doll baby and this is a good thing when he is peeing all over our floors that I swear were just disinfected thoroughly from Eve’s puppy hood. Socks will be with us for a few weeks at most and I promise to have pictures posted soon of his little wrinkly mug.
100,000 miles and still running like its brand new, well sort of. My little car that takes a licking and keeps on ticking just made a 100,000 milestone. I love my practical “buy” and I hope for it to take me at least another two years. I plan on running it until it won’t run anymore. I am so not the type to buy a brand new BMW just out of school. However, the G37 sure is sweet. ;)
My husband came home the other day and announced that he could tell I was a water sign. I replied that his comment was unusual at best and what in the heck did he mean aside from the fact that I abhor fire? He then looked to the ground and said that another body of water claimed his other wedding band. Let me explain the wedding band thing. His first band that he lost at the Cacapon was purchased as a wedding band. The ring that he replaced it with was part of our “love” bands. It was simple silver ring that we had a matching set of, complete with engraved dates of the Valentine’s Day that we got them. The ring was sized for his right hand and was much too big for his left hand. He wanted to wear a band though and with our rather tight finances, we thought it would work until a later date. The Potomac river had other plans. While Matt was fixing something for work, his ring was washed away into the river. This makes two rings in less than 2 months and somehow guarantees me to be the “water bearer” that Aquarius individuals are.
My grandmother seems to be doing better than the last time that I posted. I am still not at all impressed with her care from either FMH or the nursing home that she is currently in. At least, she seems to be better this week than she was last week and we would all like to see this trend continue.
I believe that about sums things up. In the world of pharmacy, there is some scandal going on about the integrity of our board licensing exam. Perhaps I will update on that later on. Also, I am going to start a series entitled “Now just what can a pharmacist do?” I assure all that it will be very informative and a wonderful read that is perfect to put you to sleep. :) I do feel that it is necessary judging from all the comments I get from individuals about my future. “You mean you can do more than count by 5 and label drug containers?” Yes, I mean we can do so much more. Stay tuned…

Next time I see Matt I will give him some of my “ring luck”. Not all of it mind you. You never know when I will need it again…. hopefully never.
