You do the best that you can…
Matt and I did what we could to increase our odds of getting a healthy dog. We paid a pretty penny to a good breeder so that we didn’t get a “puppy mill” dog with lots of heath problems. I am sad to say that we lost the luck game this time around. Eve was diagnosed with EPI. We immediately started her on enzyme supplementation to help her body get the nutrients that it needs. It will take a few days to a few weeks before we will know if this therapy is going to help. I have my hopes up that it will be just fine and nothing more than a minor annoyance to make her food with this stuff in it. I know Eve will miss all the yummy table scrapes and doggy treats since dogs with this disease aren’t able to have food without enzymes. So, we are a little disappointed, but trying to remain optimistic that Eve will be OK. If anyone knows about EPI or where I could get raw pancreas from, let me know.

We’re so sorry to hear about Eve and we are keeping you and your girl in our thoughts! As for the raw pancreas, I would check with a local butcher. Often times they will sell various parts to you.
