A Baby Boy and A New Life Schedule
The new life schedule is not a result of the baby boy. Don’t panic, they are two separate blogs. Matt and I are tickled “blue” that Eric and Beth are having a boy!! This is the first boy in our network of friends who seem to have endless girls. We are so happy for them and cannot wait to meet the little guy. Beth does a great job of updating everyone on Ally, the new baby, and their overall life at: Emmons Kids
The new schedule is a result of my school changing my rotation schedule around. I am thrilled with the new schedule because it suites my interest in pharmacy a little better than the previous schedule did AND I am not going to suffer at a Wal-Mart in Martinsburg. So, without further ado, my schedule as it stands right now:
May 21st – June 30th: Inpatient Acute Care Rotation at Winchester Medical Center
July 2nd – August 11th: Institutional Rotation: This is still undecided.
August 13th – September 22nd: Community Clinical at Home Care Pharmacy
September 24th – November 3rd: Ambulatory Care at Amherst Family Practice. This is with a professor at my school who is also a clinical pharmacist. I think that I will enjoy this site.
November 5th – December 1st: Selective Rotation at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that I am very excited to have this rotation. I’ve heard great things about the VA center and what they have to offer pharmacists. I really wanted the opportunity to have a rotation here.
December 1st – December 30th: OFF! I can only hope for an early winter season with SNOW so that Matt and I can go skiing
December 31st – January 26th: Drum-roll please, as this is the rotation that is replacing Wal-Mart. I have the coolest rotation ever. I will be going to Viriginia Tech’s College of Veterinary Medicine. I know the timing of this is very unnerving considering the recent events that occurred, but I am still beyond thrilled to have this opportunity. The school is a teaching hospital and it currently has 3 pharmacists staffed to help animals feel better. So yes, I will be living in Blacksburg, VA for a month without my Matt, Evey, Bent, Mercedes, and Coop. Hopefully, Matt will manage to hold down the fort while I am gone and my animals will appreciate my endeavors to learn about the medication they take.
January 26th – February 25th: OFF! So, even if it doesn’t snow in December, Matt and I will have plenty of time to catch up on skiing here! The month off should help to make up for the month that I am leaving.
February 25th – March 22nd: Drug Information Rotation with a professor here at school.
March 23rd: I am finished. Let the cramming for the NAPLEX begin.
