And the time goes by…
No one ever warned me that life goes by so fast. Matt and I stay so busy. I honestly thought that things would calm down a little after the wedding, but such has not been the case. All our weekends are booked far, far, in advance and our evenings seem to just evaporate away. Between Matt and I working full days during the summer and me pulling the occasional shift at CVS pharmacy on the weekends, this summer has just disappeared. But, this has been the best summer of our lives. Aside from getting married and taking the World’s best honeymoon, we have had a handful of great experiences.
Two weekends ago, we went to Alexandra’s first birthday party. I can’t believe that it has been a year since she was born. She looked like an absolute princess in her pink dress. Beth ordered the ultimate princess cake from Cindy’s Sweets. Ever since Matt and I didn’t get a piece of our wedding cake from Cindy’s Sweets, he has had to endure my endless whining of how much I am craving that cake. It was delicious as ever. Ally has become so grown up and as beautiful as ever. I love to watch her grow and change through all her stages.
On another trip up to Warfordsburg (Matt’s home town), we stopped by Phantom Fireworks. That is the coolest store ever and I highly recommend it to anyone. While we were there, we saw a HUGE baby black bear bounding around in a field. He scared the crap out of all us spectators when he decided to bolt onto I-70, but he made it across safely. Sadly, for once, I didn’t have a camera attached to my hip and I didn’t get a picture of the cute little guy.
This past weekend brought more great memories. One of my Hood sisters joined the marriage club. Kedest and Sam got married on the 29th! Kedest was one of the most gorgeous brides that I have ever seen. Matt and I had a great cultural experience at their Ethiopian style wedding.
Jeremy had surgery on his severely herniated disk in his back. He is doing as good as expected and we have been doing our best to keep him fed and happy. Of course, he has so many friends that he would be fine without our help, but we like to make sure he is feeling good. Plus, I remember how miserable life can be when you are down and out.
Also, this past Saturday, Matt and I made the front page of the Herald Mail. Our wedding announcement was put on the front page as a reference to the Lifestyles section. That was pretty cool to see on Saturday morning. Just like us though, it took Matt’s Mom calling and informing us that we were in the paper at all.
And as a side note because I’ve been slow in mentioning this. Lisa’s (our AMAZING wedding photographer) pictures are now on our site and she has them on her site as well. http://focusonyou2.com/index.html We are gallery 6 and Britt and Bob are gallery 1!
I highly, highly, highly recommend her as a photographer for anyone and any event. She is the nicest to work with and her pictures are the best.
Finally, I am attempting to post a streaming video of our wedding and honeymoon montage. This will require the help of Eric and I am holding his daughter’s picture files at ransom until this is done.
